Second Chance for the King

Friends, just over a year ago marked the launch of Age of Conan, a game many of us had been eagerly anticipating and had been awaiting with baited breath. Many of us entered the game feeling like it was possibly a second coming of “that game” that could unite many of us under its spell. For a time, it was, and our accomplishments grew.

Then, it happened. By “it”, I mean a total collapse due to a game that had been released far too early. Game glitches, lag, unplayable at times, and horrible class balancing started to take its toll on the hearty bunch of Ancorans that had made Conan home. Eventually, as has happened to many games in the past, people dwindled away from Hyboria and into the ethers.

Though gone, the wheel of time spins and a year passes by. On a whim, this humble adventurer decided to see how the world has changed. From my first simple steps into the world, I have noted changes for the better, as if the gods and goddesses themselves had heard the plea’s of the early times.

Once again, Conan calls out for those strong enough to fight against the encroaching darkness. Will you answer the call a second time? Can we put aside past feelings and truly give the world another chance? Or will we let the darkness fill all of Hyboria?
